Welcome to Your First Class!
Quick Tips for Your First Class
What to Bring
Water bottle: Stay hydrated! Pole fitness is a workout, and you’ll want to keep your energy up.
Small towel: A small towel can help keep your hands dry for better grip.
Simple yoga mat: Useful for floor-based exercises and stretching during warm-ups.
Positive attitude: Don’t be nervous! Every expert was once a beginner. Relax, have fun, and be open to learning something new.
What to Wear
Shorts and a fitted top: Pole requires skin contact for grip, especially for moves where you’ll hold or balance with your legs or sides. Avoid leggings or anything too loose.
Bare feet: No shoes or socks needed! Going barefoot helps you stay grounded and connect with the pole.
Before Your Class
Avoid using lotion: Skip any body lotion or oil on the day of your class. It makes gripping the pole difficult and slippery, which can be unsafe.
Light snack: A small, balanced snack 30 minutes to an hour before class can help keep your energy up.
The Warm-Up: Building Strength and Flexibility
Each Pole Fitness class at Misfit begins with a 1-hour fitness and stretching session. This goes beyond a simple warm-up; it's a dedicated time to build the strength, flexibility, and endurance needed for pole. Through a mix of conditioning exercises, deep stretching, and mobility work, we prepare your body for the more rigorous movements of pole. These exercises will not only enhance your performance but also help you see continuous progress as you build strength over time.
During the Class
Listen to your body: You’ll try new moves that may feel challenging – and that’s okay! Go at your own pace and don’t push beyond what feels comfortable.
Ask for help: Our instructors are here to support you every step of the way. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or request modifications.
After the Class
Cool down: Stretching after class helps prevent soreness and improves flexibility. Take a few minutes to unwind and breathe.
Celebrate your progress: Every class is a step toward a stronger, more confident you!
Pole fitness is about discovering strength, embracing femininity, and celebrating movement. Welcome to the Misfit family – let’s get started!
